Esthetic bridge construction

During the restoration of missing teeth, sometimes situations arise where dental implants cannot be applied. This can be due to various reasons. Constraints may arise due to financial, health-related, surgical treatment, or specifically, phobia towards implantology treatment, etc. In such cases, the traditional treatment method that was applied in dental practice before implantology treatment, which is the restoration with bridge-like non-removable constructions, is implemented.

During the application of bridge constructions, the area of the missing tooth is prepared (trimmed) along with the surrounding teeth (the number of teeth varies depending on the size of the defect), and a specially prepared construction is fixed onto the prepared teeth. Mainly in daily practice, zirconia, ceramic, or a combination of these materials are used due to fulfilling the aesthetic and functional requirements.

Especially in recent years, the application of special impression materials and the method of “Intraoral scanning” in daily practice have created conditions for the preparation of bridge constructions with high precision. The application of bridge constructions prepared from alternative materials (metal-ceramic, gold, etc.) has been significantly limited in recent years, especially because they do not meet aesthetic requirements.
